Change Mail/MX/DNS Record for Your Domain

To receive e-mails at your MyDigitalMedia Exchange mailbox:

  1. Set up forwarding while your DNS changes take effect (typically 24-48 hours). This will prevent any emails from being lost. Most ISP's have an administration page where you can setup a forwarding address; if you’re unable to find it contact your administrator or ISP directly.

Configure forwarding from your current email account(s) to your MyDigitalMedia email address. Your mydigitalmedia.co.uk email address can be found in both your welcome setup email and in the mydigitalmedia.co.uk Control Panel.
  2. Change your mail (MX) record to the MyDigitalMedia mail servers. This ensures that emails are delivered immediately to your new mailbox. Ask your website hosting company/domain registrar to change the MX record for your domain. If they do not, you will need to use a service such as Domain-DNS.com or ZoneEdit.com to take control of your DNS and make the changes yourself.

The information for the MyDigitalMedia Mail or MX servers is:

Exchange Server 2003 & 2007

  • Primary / priority = 0; Server Name = mx1.MyOutlookOnline.com
  • Secondary / priority = 5; Server Name = mx2.MyOutlookOnline.com

NOTE: Do not make the priority the same for both MX servers as this will cause loss of email. The Priority/preference number for mx1 must be lower than that of mx2.

Exchange 2007 customer must setup a new sub-domain to utilize Outlook 2007 auto-discover feature. Please follow the steps here.

Please email support@mydigitalmedia.co.uk if you have questions or need help in changing your MX records.
